These tools are approved with the use of Clear, Green, and Amber data.
All use of generative AI tools must align with Seton Hill University's official AI Acceptable Use Policy and Data Classification guidelines to protect student, staff, and institutional data.
Only the approved tools above can be used to create, process, upload, or analyze institutional data—including but not limited to student information, assessment materials, internal documents, or staff communications.
When using an AI tool that is not on the approved list, employees are responsible for ensuring that the tool aligns with the Data Classification Policy and adheres to the guidelines defined for TLP Red, Amber, Green, and Clear classifications. These restrictions ensure compliance with data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements, protecting student, staff, and school data.
NOTE: If you are not sure which category your data fits into, do not enter it into AI. Consult the Data Classification Policy for more information.
Confidentiality: Confidential or sensitive University data should never be entered into public or unapproved AI tools. Users should assume any data entered into such tools may become publicly accessible.
Licensing Requirements: Sensitive University data may only be used with tools approved and licensed by the University. Use of unapproved or non-licensed tools may result in corrective action.
